Meet the Staff
Since 2000, The Reverend Cris Mogenson, B.A., M. Div. has served as the program director and Coordinating Chaplain at the Broome County Public Safety Facility and has been in the ministry for over 30 years as an institutional chaplain and pastor in 7 states. Cris holds a doctor of ministry degree from Northeastern Seminary at Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester. NY, where he has also taught as adjunct professor. Discharge planning and reentry services are provided by Deacon Dorothy Pierce, B.A., M.S., who has served a remarkable career as an educator and currently serves as a Diocese Deacon for the Episcopal Church. The Chairperson of the Jail Ministry Advisory Board is Deacon Alfred Babicek, who currently serves as a Deacon for the Free Methodist Church as well as volunteering for the Broome County Council of Churches Hospital Chaplaincy and Kairos Prison Ministries. The Jail Chaplains’ office staff in the Broome County Sheriff’s Correctional facility include a part-time county employed Roman Catholic Chaplain part-time Muslim Chaplain. Our staff includes several professionals who are affiliated with a variety of cooperating agencies as well as a number of highly skilled ministerial and MSW interns.
