Mudcat Grant Golf Tournament

Mudcat Grant Golf Tournament

Each year Security Mutual Life Insurance presents the Jim “Mudcat” Grant All-Star Golf Tournament, a celebrity-studded event being held this year on Thursday, September 3rd at the Links at Hiawatha. Celebrities from the world of professional sports will be playing in the Tournament, including members of The Black Aces – the 13 African-American professional baseball players who won 20 or more games in a single season, including Jim “Mudcat” Grant – along with Coach Tom Dempsey, Tony Jeter, Meadowlark Lemon, Roosevelt Bowie, Booker Edgerson, Coach Johnnie Roland, Lee Smith and more. Proceeds from the event are donated to four area nonprofits, including the CHOW® Hunger Relief Program here at the Broome County Council of Churches. We’re so grateful to Security Mutual Life Insurance Company for their strong support of CHOW®! You can get individually involved with the Tournament by volunteering as a hole monitor. Hole monitors are stationed at each hole on the course and help the golfers find errant balls. Volunteers are needed! And if you own a business, consider becoming a Tournament sponsor.
