Lenten Services
Holy Nativity Lutheran Church hosts the annual BC3 sponsored series of Lenten services. The services begin on Ash Wednesday and continue each Wednesday at 12:00 noon through Easter Sunday.

Peace With Justice

This committee has worked diligently to reduce violence in our culture, reduce prejudice and work for economic justice. A major collaborative effort of understanding and discussion about the human lives lost in the ongoing Sudan Crisis was initiated by the committee and became a joint work with the Council's Interfaith Ministries. The result of the work was a joint statement approved by the Board of Directors calling for greater sensitivity, awareness and educational priorities within the larger community.

CHOW Farm

The CHOW Farm is growing. We have planted vegetables in Conklin and in the Town of Maine. We will need groups to volunteer to help maintain the farm and to harvest the produce, expecially the corn in the Town of Maine. We desperately need a four wheel drive truck to move from one location to another and up and down the rows of produce. Other items we need: 100 HP Tractor, tiller attachment, manure spreader, irrigation equipment, deer fencing, plastic layer & lifter, green house, potting soil, seeding beds, general farm tools.

CHOW Orchard
CHOW Orchard: We are planting our orchard (which many of our friends helped us win) on August 22 beginning at 11:00. You can register to help by going to the volunteer link on the side of this page. Please let us know if you can bring a pick, shovel, wheelbarrow and if you would like to stay for a workshop on care of an orchard which will take place that afternoon from 3:00 - 4:00

Manley's Mighty Marts are now official food drop off centers for CHOW. Look for the red CHOW barrel to drop your donation in.

Souper Bowl of Caring
Here's how our congregations can transform a Sunday famous for football and fast foods into a meaningful event: taking part in the Souper Bowl of Caring. Children hold soup kettles near exits as members of the congregation leave after Sunday services. Parishioners each toss loose change, a dollar or the cost of a fast food meal into the kettle. The money will be sent to the Broome County Council of Churches' hunger relief program, C.H.O.W., to help alleviate hunger. For more information, contact eblaine@broomecouncil.net.
