"We could not seek union if we did not already possess unity.
Those who have nothing in common do not deplore their estrangement."

-William Temple, World Conference on Faith and Order
Edinburgh, 1937

Toward achieving our goal we sponsor a study of world religions using materials provided by Professor Diane Eck of Harvard University. The attendees are of many faith traditions and meet monthly with the Reverend Art Suggs, study leader who originated the project. Other study efforts include co-sponsorship of a lecture given by Dr. Pandit Rajmani Tigunait, Spiritual Head of the International Himalayan Institute and a study group "Women of Faith" for women of different faith traditions. Other events sponsored by the committee designed to bring people together for worship such as the Service of Blessing and Peace held each November and a new experience with community convocations created by a team of Muslim, Christian and Jewish leaders to respond to September 11 events has been a major focus of the committee.

Several members of the committee accompany the prison chaplain to join in the multi-faith program presented to inmates at Waymart Correctional Institute in Pennsylvania. This program is well received by the prison population and highly complimented by the prison administration.
