Ramp It Up Program Background & Information

From the floods of 2006 and 2011 and the Group WorkCamps of 2008, we realized the need for wheelchair ramps for many members of our communities and the desire of our youth to help out.  The Broome County Council of Churches, in an effort to help groups work together, took the opportunity to develop this intergenerational program.

In its continuing mission to serve the community, the Broome County Council of Churches is partnering congregations and community organizations to provide easier home access to individuals in Broome County.

Integrating the information from the Faith in Action Volunteers program and area youth groups, as well as coordinating with local suppliers, these ramp projects will be an opportunity for youth and adults to work together to benefit folks in Broome County and beyond.
